Join us for the annual SAGA holiday party, held in room 148 at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 16th. We'll have a smorgasbord of snacks (feel free to bring something to share!), play some games, and watch "The Happiest Season." All are welcome!

The Japanese Club is so proud of our students' incredible artistic work, which is visible in our display case. Our club will meet Thursday, December 16th afterschool in room 230. We will learn about the unique connection between KFC and the Japanese version of a Christmas celebration, with KFC food. Also, we will continue to learn Japanese and watch anime. All are welcome.

Bobcat Foodies! Cooking Club meets Thursday in room 105 at 2:00 p.m. It's our Cookie Extravaganza and all recipes can be found on our Google Classroom. There are no more spots open for December but if you'd like to join us for February's session, bring $5 to Ms. Cliff or Sra. Ruiz.

The Italian Club will meet on Monday, December 20th from 2:00 p.m. until the late bus in room 105.  We'll be baking Italian treats like cookies, cream puffs, cannoli, and pizzelle. Space is limited so get $5 to Mrs. Zaccardelli in room 226 to reserve your spot.

As the nation returns to holiday celebrations with family and friends this year, the American Red Cross faces historically low blood supply levels not seen in more than a decade. While people gather this holiday season, the Red Cross urges eligible donors to take time out to give blood or platelets for patients in need. The SWHS HOPE Club is proud to present our Winter Blood Drive here at the school on Saturday, January 8th from 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Please consider contributing to this great cause by signing up to donate at the link here: https://www.redcrossblood.org/give.html/drive-results?zipSponsor=swhs20, or by visiting RedCrossBlood.org and entering swhs20 to schedule an appointment. Your contribution will go a long way towards helping someone who is in need of a donation, so let's roll up our sleeves and donate today!

COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER

There will be another college visit to the Career Center this week. A representative from Long Island University will be here at 12:30 on Friday, December 17th. Students who are interested in attending should sign up in Naviance.

While scholarship season is still gearing up, some programs are available now. The Hartford Foundation for Public Giving scholarship program is underway. The deadline for its first major pool of scholarships is January 11th. There are additional scholarship opportunities with February deadlines. You can find a link to all HFPG scholarships in Naviance. The Big Y scholarship is also open to applicants until February 1st. These are both regional scholarship programs available to SWHS students. If you need help understanding how to find scholarships in Naviance, you may stop in and visit Mrs. Carty in the Career Center any time.
