SCHOOL NEWS:

Today we highlight Katherine Johnson, who was one of three black students chosen to integrate West Virginia’s graduate schools and became a renowned mathematician and significant contributor to NASA. In 1962, her work allowed for a successful space flight and resulted in a major turning point in the space race between the United States and the Soviet Union. Johnson was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Barack Obama in 2015. Her accomplishments will be remembered for generations to come, and her memory will be honored as we look up to her for inspiration in our lives and our nation’s future.
