SCHOOL NEWS:

We are excited to announce the results of the Voice4Change vote that was held on Monday, March 28.  Each proposal represented the amazing and innovative ideas of South Windsor High School students.  Ultimately, SWHS students got to use their voice to choose the proposal that would receive the $20,000 in funding from the state of CT.

The proposal that received the most votes from our students and will be funded is the Renovation of Outdoor Hangout/Lunch Space proposal!
Congratulations to Madison Oberly, Barbara Huarcaya, Liliana Ross, Jessica Lanteri, Xander Lecours & Nikki Chung for their work on this proposal.
This funding will be used for providing updated furniture and renovation of outdoor space outside of the cafeteria so students can have a comfortable space to spend time outdoors and enjoy lunch, which will benefit our entire school community.
Congratulations to all who participated in this opportunity and we look forward to seeing this project implemented!

The 9th Grade Class of 2025 is having a fundraiser at a local sandwich shop at 1006 Sullivan Avenue on Wednesday, April 20th from 4 to 7 p.m.  Please come by and support your 9th Grade Class!

This week's tip from the Writing Center: Make sure that you are using your own voice by
putting information into your own words. Don’t try to sound like anyone who’s
not you! For tips on how to paraphrase or help with your writing, stop by the
Writing Center. We are open Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 2-3pm in room
136. No appointment is needed, just drop in for help with any writing
assignment!

CLUBS AND ACTIVITIES:

NHS will be meeting this Wednesday after school in the cafeteria!

ATHLETICS:

Do you have gently used sporting equipment that you no longer need?  Equipment Assist is a local program run by 3 high school sophomores who are collecting items to donate to the Hartford Police Athletic League (PAL), which benefits underserved youth.  From now through April 24th, we are collecting all types of gently used sports equipment including cleats, sneakers, ice and hockey skates, baseball gloves, balls, helmets, shin guards, etc.  All sizes are acceptable.  A bin is located between the two showcases in the main lobby.  We can also arrange to pick up bigger items such as nets, hockey sticks, baseball bats and lacrosse sticks.  If you have questions, or to schedule a pick up, please email [email protected]
