May 1st marks the start of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month in the United States.  Each year, since 1979, this month is designated as an opportunity to celebrate and recognize, as we continue to uplift the diversity and excellence of AAPI individuals all year long. Read more about this here: https://asianpacificheritage.gov/about/

On behalf of the Equity Council, we would like to provide materials to continue to recognize and celebrate Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month. I welcome you all to consider these available resources for year-round use. In the month of May we take a deeper dive into lesson plans, activities and other resources to recognize the contributions that Asian American Pacific Islanders have made, and continue to make, on our local, national, and global community. Asian American Pacific Islander History Month should focus on the resilience of our community as well as the historical and contemporary excellence of people. Please watch the slide show to see the full content of the presentation, Asian American Pacific Islander resources HERE.
