SCHOOL NEWS: 

Attention all students: 
Wednesday, October 12th is PSAT Day. All students in grades 9-11 must arrive by 7:15 am and report to their testing room. Room assignments will be posted on posters around the building before the test date.
9th graders: Please bring your fully charged Chromebook, drink, calculator and a snack. You will be taking the digital PSAT 9. 
10th & 11th graders: Please bring a pencil, drink, calculator and snack. You will be taking the pencil and paper PSAT 10/11. 
12th graders: There will be no classes for seniors this day. Please take the day to present your capstone project, attend capstone office hours in the cafeteria, work on college application materials and/or participate in a college visit  

If you are interested in being a part of the Homecoming October Pep Rally on October 28th, please fill out the Homecoming Week Pep Rally Participation Form in your Google Classroom. You will compete in some sort of short competition in front of the student body. We will pick a few students from each grade that fill out this form to compete against the other classes. This will be decided at the pep rally and your name will be called out then. 

Attention all Students: The Homecoming Dance will be held on October 28th from 7:00-10 PM in the high school cafeteria. If you would like to bring an outside guest to the dance, please see your grade level Google Classroom for the permission slip or see Mr. Orsini in Room 235. Permission slips must be approved prior to purchasing your guest's ticket. 
 
The Bobcat Shop is looking for your vote! As the colder season arrives, the Bobcat Shop wants your opinion on the sweat pant design for the store. CLUBS AND ACTIVITIES:
 
Unified for Underprivileged Girls is hosting its first fundraiser of the year. Come enjoy delicious food at a local soup and bread shop at 100 Hemlock Avenue in South Windsor on October 7th from 4-8 pm  and help raise money for underprivileged girls in Kenya. 
 
COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER: 

Next week’s college visits to the South Windsor High School will be University of Pittsburgh, Boston University, Wagner College, Albertus Magnus College, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Yale University, Landmark College, College of the Holy Cross, and Saint Anselm College. Please sign up in Naviance if you plan to attend. Most visits will take place in the Career Center. Signs will be posted if the visit is moved to another location.

Last call for Junior or Senior students interested in attending the United States Senate Youth Program! If you would like to be considered for a school nomination, submit a resume that outlines your involvement and leadership to Mrs. Carty in the Career Center by the end of the school day on Tuesday, October 11th. Two students from Connecticut will ultimately be selected to attend the Washington Week in March.
