SCHOOL NEWS:
 
Are you looking to get involved in an after school program that helps give back to our community? Are you a good student, with a positive attitude, who has time to help a Middle School student with their homework? Are you available Wednesdays after school, starting November 30th? If you answered yes to these questions, apply to be a Jump Start Tutor! Join the Classroom with the code ck2tlao to access the application, which is due Friday, November 11th. Spots will fill up quickly, so apply today!
 
The second wave of Capstone presentations will be held after school on Tuesday, November 15th. In order to present in this wave, you must have all written work submitted to your Advisor's Google Classroom by Monday, November 7th. All of your work must receive a score of successful or highly successful. You will sign up to present by filling out a Google Form that will be posted on the Capstone Website. A schedule with presentation times and Room assignments will be posted on the Capstone Website by Friday, November 11th. Students who present during this wave are eligible for an Honor Cord.
 
Reminder! The Fall Play is running a Design Contest for the cover of its program. Complete your design and send it in to Mrs. White at [email protected] or drop it off to Room 144. You have until Monday, November 7th!

CLUBS AND ACTIVITIES:

Interested in STEM? Have strong writing skills? Want to stand out to college admission committees? Then the Medical and Scientific Research Club is right for you! Gain knowledge on a niche topic in medicine or science, improve your scientific writing skills, and get accepted for publication! Through the guidance of our experienced mentors, you’ll be guided along the journey of writing either original research or a literary review to get accepted for publication. Additionally, you’ll be given a chance to network with professionals in the fields of your choice, whether it be well-accomplished scientists or local healthcare workers. Google Classroom code: 5ullbb4.  Our next meeting is on Monday, November 7th after school from  2:00 to 2:30 pm in Room 209. Please come prepared with a research topic. Hope to see you there!
 
The Italian Club will have its next meeting next Wednesday, November 9th right after school.  We'll meet in room 226 and then we'll go outside to play bocce.  We'll have drinks and snacks.  There is no cost, just send Mrs. Zaccardelli a message via Google Classroom to let her know you're coming!  All are welcome!
