SCHOOL NEWS:
 
Are you looking to get involved in an after school program that helps give back to our community? Are you a good student, with a positive attitude, who has time to help a Middle School student with their homework? Are you available Wednesdays after school, starting November 30th? If you answered yes to these questions, apply to be a Jump Start Tutor! Join the Classroom with the code ck2tlao to access the application, which is due Friday, November 11th. Spots will fill up quickly, so apply today!
 
Reminder! The Fall Play is running a Design Contest for the cover of its program. Complete your design and send it in to Mrs. White at [email protected] or drop it off to Room 144. You have until today!

The second wave of Capstone presentations will be held after school on Tuesday, November 15th. In order to present in this wave, you must have all written work submitted to your Adviser’s Google Classroom by Monday November 7th. All of your work must receive a score of successful or highly successful. You will sign up to present by filling out a Google Form that will be posted on the Capstone Website. A schedule with presentation times and room assignments will be posted on the Capstone Website by Friday November 11th. Students who present during this wave are eligible for an Honor Cord.
 
Seniors: Cap and gown orders are now open! Please scan the QR code on the flyer posted to the Senior Classroom page to fill out the required information. No payment is due at this time. Complete this by November 18th to ensure that your order will be placed. As a reminder, graduation is on June 15th at Dunkin' Donuts Park. Please see Mr. Zielinski or Mrs. Lynch with any questions.
 
CLUBS AND ACTIVITIES:
 
The Italian Club will have its next meeting next Wednesday, November 9th right after school.  We'll meet in Room 226 and then we'll go outside to play Bocce.  We'll have drinks and snacks.  There is no cost, just send Mrs. Zaccardelli a message via Google Classroom to let her know you're coming!  All are welcome!

SWFTLK will host a Bingo Board Competition from November 21st through November 28th. . The bingo board will contain a bunch of challenges on them. Participants will pay $3 per board. The first 3 people to complete a row of 5 challenges will win prizes like gift cards to Dunkin, Starbucks, DQ, etc. Check out the Google Classroom for SWFTLK and @SWforlocalkids on Instagram. 
  
COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER:

This week’s Career Center visits include Lafayette College, Nichols College, Western New England University and Hampshire College. All dates and times are posted in Naviance. Please sign up if you would like to attend.

Students who are either enrolled in the Open Choice program or are first generation or underrepresented students are invited to attend an informational session about a mentoring program at the University of Connecticut School of Nursing. If you are a student from any of these communities considering a career in Nursing, this is a great opportunity. The visit will take place in the Career Center on December 7th and is listed in Naviance under “What’s New”. Please sign up if you would like to attend. You may also see Ms. Bravo or Ms. Carty with any questions.
