CLUBS AND ACTIVITIES:

Our next FBLA meeting is today, December 1st, after-school in Room 125

Please join us for the next Italian Club meeting on Wednesday, December 7th at 2 p.m. in Room 105. We will be baking some Italian recipes as well as having a small cookie decorating contest! Space is limited so bring Mrs. Zaccardelli  $5 ASAP to save yourself a spot.

Interested in STEM? The Medical and Scientific Research Club may be right for you! Gain knowledge on a niche topic in medicine or science, improve your scientific writing skills, and get accepted for publication! Our experienced mentors will guide you along the journey of writing either original research or a literary review to get accepted for publication. You’ll be given a chance to network with professionals in the fields of your choice, whether it be well-accomplished scientists or local healthcare workers. Google Classroom code: 5ullbb4. Our next in-person meeting is on Monday, December 19th after school from 2 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in Room 209. Please come prepared with a research topic or a job shadowing interest and an idea on how to pursue it. If you plan to write a research paper and are able to start drafting it, that is great. If you are already in the works of writing a research paper, please feel free to stop by and workshop your writing.

COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER:

South Windsor High School will be administering the ASVAB CEP again this year.  The test will be held on Wednesday, December 14th at 8:00 a.m. in the Seminar Room at SWHS.  Whether you’re planning to go to college, a vocational school, or the Military, or you’re just not sure what you want to do yet, the ASVAB CEP can provide you with important information about your skills and interests -- and help get you on the right path toward a satisfying career. There are a limited number of seats available, so seats will be first come, first serve. The test is open to all students in grades 10-12. If you would like to take the ASVAB CEP please email Mr. Briggs at [email protected] or stop by the School Counseling Office.
Visit the Career Center or the screen outside School Counseling to see the flyer or read the School Counseling newsletter for more details.
