SCHOOL NEWS:

Tickets for The Addams Family will be sold in the Cafeteria on Wednesday and Thursday of this week. Please come and enjoy the show!

The 9th Grade Class of 2026 is having a fundraiser at a local ice cream shop at Evergreen Walk on Thursday, April 20th from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. Please stop by and help support the Class of 2026. 

Graduation lawn signs are currently on sale! There are only a few days left to order, so don’t delay! You can find the order form on the Senior classroom or on the SWHS main page. Forms and payment can be brought to the Counseling Office. Please contact Kathy Reed at [email protected] for more information. 

Attention Seniors: The final collection dates for senior dues are April 26th & 27th during all 4 lunch waves and May 3rd from 1:15 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Main Lobby. Payments can also be made through MySchoolBucks until 11:59 p.m. on 5/3. Senior dues cover graduation, reception, and outing. See Google Classroom for details. 

Mind's Eye, our school's literary magazine, is accepting submissions for this year's magazine. We are looking for writing of all types, including poetry, fiction, and nonfiction, as well as art work, both 2D and 3D. Submissions can be sent via a Google form -- see your English teacher for the QR code!

Our springtime menu features Strawberry Fields punch, cheesy potato casserole, spinach-chicken-sausage in a blanket, fancy finger sandwiches, and super cute Easter bunny racers!  Bring $5 to Ms. Cliff or Sra. Ruiz to reserve your spot!

Join us on Tuesday, April 25th for the Choices Matter program at SWHS. In partnership with CT Highway Safety Office, Choices Matter is a life-changing program for high school students using personal stories and interactive materials to inspire students to make the right choices both behind the wheel and in life. The event will be held from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Auditorium. Light refreshments will be served. See you there!

COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER:

UConn is holding a week long Pre-College Summer program in Earth and Environmental Science from June 25 - July 1 and has a limited number of scholarships available to allow students to attend at no cost. Dunkin’ on Sullivan Avenue is hiring for closing shifts on certain nights of the week. Please see the flier in the Career Center for information on pay and who to contact about applying.

Applications are now available for CT Girls State, CT Boys State and CT State Police Youth Week for Summer 2023 programming for current 11th graders.
