SCHOOL NEWS:

The 9th Grade Class will be selling Shamrocks during all 4 lunch waves the week of March 4th to March 8th. Stop by the table during your lunch wave to write out your note on the shamrock. They will be delivered during homeroom on March 14th. Each Shamrock will cost $1.00. Proceeds go to the 9th grade Class of 2027. See Mrs. Barrett with questions.

If you are interested in saving three lives, please consider signing up for South Windsor High School’s spring blood drive being held on Tuesday, March 12th during school. Every donation counts. The Red Cross is providing all donors with a $10 gift card by email to a pet supply merchant of their choice. To sign up, scan the QR code on the posters around school, or through the volunteers that are available during all lunch waves this week. We will also take walk-ins next Tuesday. You must be 17 or older, or 16 years old with a parent permission form to donate. See Ms. Karasinski in Room 207 for more information.

The library will be CLOSED on Tuesday, March 12th for the blood drive. Please plan accordingly.

CLUBS AND ACTIVITIES:

The Environmental Club is selling t-shirts to promote “Earth Day is Every Day!” Shirts will be sold in the Cafe and in Ms. Eitel’s classroom Room 206 from February 26th thru June. Students will wear the shirts on specific days to show their love of conservation and environmental stewardship.

Happy Women's History month! In celebration, Unified for Underprivileged Girls is having a month-long fundraiser with Leah Cunha crafts. Any purchases made from her website supports our pen pals in Kenya! This is a great way to raise money for our pan pals, earn credit for the club, and get some cute jewelry in the process!

The Indian Dance Club will meet on Friday March 8 after school in room 227. Please Mr. Ly or Yogita Bhavana if you have questions.

This week's tip from the Writing Center: When writing a paper that analyzes evidence, most of your paragraph should be your ideas, not quotations. One trick to check is to color code your ideas and the evidence and see how much of the paragraph is evidence. For more tips and tricks, follow @swhswritingcenter on Instagram and check us out in room 136 from 2-3 on Mondays, Wednesday, and Thursdays.

ATHLETICS:

For all girls interested in playing girls soccer next fall there will be a meeting this Friday 3/8 at 3pm in room 102.
