The Students of the Month for December are: Grade 9- Alex Johnsson and Ella Manning; Grade 10- Karen Joy and Jennette Jacobs; Grade 11- Jonathan Ude and Ronnie Pinkard; and Grade 12- Victoria Taylor Orduz and Harold Carvajal. Each of these students was nominated by a teacher who felt that they went above and beyond as a student who exemplifies our academic, social or civic expectations. Congratulations to all!

Attention Seniors: Capstone presentations will take place on Tuesday, January 23 from 12:00pm - 1:15pm. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Walsh or Mr. Richards.

SWHS is administering the American Mathematics Contest on Wednesday, February 7 during Periods 1 and 3 in the cafeteria. The AMC is a national competition consisting of 25 challenging multiple choice problems given over 75 minutes involving a variety of mathematics. There is a version for 9 and 10 graders, and a separate version for 11 and 12 graders with more complex mathematical topics. If you are interested in taking the test, you must sign up with your math teacher by the end of the day TODAY to reserve your spot.

Guess who’s back? The Bowling Club is back, so tell a friend to attend a brief meeting to sign up and register for the second 5 week session. Bowling Club forms will be available after school TODAY from 2:00pm -2:20pm. Please see Mr. Slim-Gray-dy in Room 168 for more information.

Due to yesterday's school closing, the Strategy Club will meet today, after school, in Room 146.

There are two upcoming scholarship opportunities for seniors that include the NIAAA Scholarship Essay for Student-athletes and the Bo Kolinsky Scholarship for any senior pursuing a career in journalism.
Interested seniors should stop by our athletic director, Mr. Sytulek’s office for further information.

South Windsor Basketball “Bobcat Blackout” T-Shirts will be on sale for $5 each prior to the boys’ basketball game vs. East Catholic at the gymnasium entrance for all fans. Sizes may be limited so please get yours early!

Athletic News:
-The girls’ JV basketball team lost to Plainville on Tuesday 37 to 36. Oge Okoh led the Bobcats with 11 points while Jazz Ramirez sparked the defense.
