March is Women’s History Month. Today we honor: Ella Baker. Ella Baker was an activist in the Civil Rights Movement.  She worked with the NAACP for many years and served as their national director. Baker also worked alongside Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to help found the Southern Christian Leadership Conference in 1957. Additionally, she helped to launch the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee.

The Interact Club has cancelled the basketball tournament scheduled for tomorrow, 3/29, due to lack of participation. If you signed up and have not already picked up your refund, please see Mrs. Howard in Room 134.

Mind's Eye will host a coffeehouse this Thursday, March 29 at 6:00 pm in the Media Center. Come and take part in our open mic, or just to support your friends. We hope to see you there.

Attention seniors: if you still need to present your Capstone, the link to sign up for presenting is located on the Capstone Class of 2018 Website. Please sign up by the end of the day on Thursday 3/29.

The Strategy Club will meet today, after school, in Room 146. All are welcome.

Students nominated for the Common Ground workshop should have received permission slips during homeroom Monday.  This is a wonderful opportunity to improve your leadership skills. See Ms. Lane in Room 6 if you have any questions.  Permission slips are due TOMORROW.

Students attending the field trip to New York City on Thursday will have a mandatory meeting TODAY after school in Room 135. If you cannot attend, please see Mrs. Ziff prior to the Wednesday meeting. 

The CT State Board of Education has opened their search for two new 2018-19 Student Board Members. Students, appointed by the governor, will serve from July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019. Any junior interested in applying should look for additional information and the posting in the Career Center. Completed applications must be postmarked on or before April 13.

Athletic News:
-The girls’ lacrosse team played their first scrimmage yesterday when they faced Windsor. Varsity came away with a 12-2 win and JV came away with a 15-4 win. Awesome start to the season, girls.
-Athletic Study Hall will be held in Room 111 today after school from 2:10 pm -3:10 pm.
