Free breakfast and lunch meals are available to all students. Due to the bell schedule change, the Distance Learner pick up time has changed. The new pick up time is 1:15 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.

An important scholarship announcement for Seniors: South Windsor Dollars for Scholars opens their on-line scholarship application portal on Thursday, January 21st. This scholarship program is an excellent opportunity for SWHS students to receive awards from local organizations and funds. The completion and submission of the application and any other additional essays, statements, or portfolios will be required for scholarship consideration. You will also have the opportunity to explore the many national scholarships through their parent organization, Scholarship America. Important instructions are included on the Parent/Student Sign-In page at www.southwindsor.dollarsforscholars.org. The application portal closes on March 15th with no exceptions. Speak to your school counselor or Mrs. Carty in the Career Center if you have any questions or need assistance during your application process.
 
The South Windsor Patriotic Commission has announced their annual essay contest for students of South Windsor. High School students are asked to write an essay on “What it means to me to be an American” in 500 words or less. All entries must be received by the Patriotic Commission no later than Monday, March 1. Winners will receive a gift card - first place will receive $100.00, second place $50 and third place $25. Please see your Social Studies teacher or Mrs. Slogesky for the contest flyer.

NHS is helping collect various items to benefit Camp Kesem, a national network that provides free, week-long summer camps for children impacted by a parent’s cancer. We are collecting arts and crafts supplies, office supplies, and toys. Please see the flyer for details, as they are looking for specific items! Items can be placed in the box in the hallway outside the cafeteria until Friday, January 29th.
