The Science Fiction/Fantasy club will hold a virtual meeting TODAY, Thursday, January 21st at 2:30 p.m. to do some creative writing. New and returning members welcome, join the classroom with code 25d3k2e.

What does it take to succeed in STEM classes at SWHS? Find out during STEM Night! Meet with teachers of AP, Honors, and Elective STEM classes via Zoom to get a better understanding of what it's like to take them and get a chance to ask all your questions. Free breakfast and lunch meals are available to all students. Due to the bell schedule change, the Distance Learner pick up time has changed. The new pick up time is 1:15 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.

Seniors!!! South Windsor Dollars for Scholars just opened their on-line scholarship application portal! This scholarship program is an excellent opportunity for SWHS students to receive awards from local organizations and funds. The completion and submission of the application and any other additional essays, statements, or portfolios will be required for scholarship consideration. You will also have the opportunity to explore the many national scholarships through their parent organization, Scholarship America. Important instructions are included on the Parent/Student Sign-In page at www.southwindsor.dollarsforscholars.org. The application portal closes on March 15th with no exceptions. Speak to your school counselor or Mrs. Carty in the Career Center if you have any questions or need assistance during your application process.

Seniors: Are you looking to wrap up your Capstone Project soon? New this year, we are offering rolling Capstone presentations every Thursday and Friday throughout the month of February. In order for you to present, you must have turned in all written work to your adviser and have received a successful on all written work. Your adviser will then reach out to the Capstone coordinators to schedule a rolling presentation. You will be notified of your presentation date, time and Google Meet link via your school email. If you have any questions please contact your adviser.

The South Windsor Patriotic Commission has announced their annual essay contest for students of South Windsor. High School students are asked to write an essay on “What it means to me to be an American” in 500 words or less. All entries must be received by the Patriotic Commission no later than Monday, March 1. Winners will receive a gift card - first place will receive $100.00, second place $50 and third place $25.
