SCHOOL NEWS
 
It's time for the 9th Grade Class of 2025 elections! Positions available are President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary. The candidate application form can be found on the 9th Grade Class of 2025 Google Classroom. Speeches are due to Mrs. Barrett by Monday, September 27th. Any questions, please see Mrs. Barrett in room 122A. Elections will be held on Tuesday, October 5th. 
 
Seniors: The first wave of Capstone presentations will be on Wednesday, October 13th. To be eligible to present, you must have all written work turned in to your advisor's Google Classroom by September 29th. Then, you have until October 6th at 2:00 pm to sign up for a time slot. You can present either in person or virtually using Google Meet. In order to receive an honor cord for Capstone you must: present on October 13 (or in January), receive a score of highly successful on ALL written work, a highly successful on your presentation, AND submit a 3 minute highlight video. CLUBS AND ACTIVITIES

Interested in gaining confidence and communication skills? Join the Debate Club! Our first meeting will be on Friday, September 24th afterschool in room 250. No prior experience is required, if interested please stop by! Contact Ms. Howard (chemistry teacher) with any questions.
 
The Italian Club will have its first meeting on Monday, September 27th afterschool in room 226. We will be talking about executive board positions at this meeting. Please join our Google Classroom using code: ivv437m. See Mr. Orsini or Mrs. Zaccardelli with any questions.
 
Are you interested in a future healthcare profession? Do you want to get a chance to talk to various healthcare professionals about their educational journey and experiences working in the medical industry? HOPE Club or Healthcare Occupational Professionals and Education Club is starting up again for the year! Join and meet and talk to guest speakers, get involved with Red Cross Blood Drives, and participate in STEM events! Be there for our first meeting on Tuesday, September 28th at 2:00 p.m. in room 204! 
 
Love Nature? Want to learn more about what's living (or lurking) in your backyard? Join SW Urban Naturalists. Our first meeting will be Wednesday, September 29th at 2:15 p.m. in room 201. The SADD Club will hold an informational meeting in the AUDITORIUM on Wednesday, September 29th at 7:00 a.m. Join us to learn more about the many issues that we tackle, including distracted driving, drug and alcohol prevention and stress management. All students are welcome to join!
 
Our literary magazine club, Mind's Eye, will hold its first meeting of the year next Wednesday, September 29th at 2:15 p.m. in room 129. New and returning members are welcome!
 
Looking for leadership skills along with the chance to compete in various different events like baking, job interviews, or fashion design, and many more? If any of these things interest you, join FCCLA. The Google classroom code is 2i3jsfs. This nationally recognized club will be holding their first official meeting Thursday, September 30th, 2:00 - 2:45 p.m. in room Wapping 11 with Ms. Porter. Refreshments will be provided.
 
Hi Bobcat Foodies!  Our September Cooking Club is SOLD OUT but if you would like to sign up for next month's Cooking Club on October 28th, please bring $5 to Ms. Cliff in 133 or Sra. Ruiz in 233.
 
Academic Support Club will be starting this Monday, September 27th. It will meet in room 122A from 2:00- 3:30 pm. every Monday through Thursday. No late buses are provided on Tuesday. Tutors, snacks, and water will be provided. If you need any help with your homework, school work, or with studying, this is the place for you!  See Mrs. Barrett, or send her an email, if you have any questions!
