SCHOOL NEWS: 

The last day to purchase Chromebook insurance for the 22-23 school year is Friday, September 23, 2022.  Please see https://www.southwindsorschools.org/chromebookinsurance for payment information.

Nominate a Staff or Faculty member for Staffulty of the Month. Students can nominate faculty and staff for the Staffulty of the Month award. This is someone you feel demonstrates kindness, understanding, encouragement, and more through this school year.  Nominations will be reviewed by Student Council officers. Two Staff members will be selected every month. They will be recognized at monthly faculty meetings and on the school website. Please be school appropriate with your nominations.

CLUBS AND ACTIVITIES:

The Bobcat Bowling Club is back!  Anyone interested in joining the Bowling Club can roll on down to room 168 and ask Mr. Gray any questions you might have and pick-up a permission slip. Are you interested in promoting Art and Writing at our school? Our school's literary magazine club, Mind's Eye, will hold its first meeting on Thursday September 29 after school in Room 129. Our Google Classroom code is yoaushq. New and returning members welcome-- hope to see you there! 
 
Do you want to become a better chess player, or just enjoy playing casually with friends? Join SWHS's Chess Club! We will have our first meeting after school on Friday, September 23rd,  in Room 161, after which we will decide when to meet weekly. We have lessons and tournaments for all chess skill levels, and everyone is welcome. Be sure to join using the Google Classroom code ba5kj3y.

Do you love watching, analyzing, and discussing films? Join the Film Club!  On Thursday, September 22nd, the Film Club will hold its first meeting at 2 pm in Room 127. Join us to watch and discuss Raiders of the Lost Ark!
 
Are you interested in helping others make good choices? Are you looking for a club to get involved in that plans activities like safe driving programs, alcohol /drug prevention awareness and stress reduction programs? Are you a morning person? If yes, then come check out the SADD Club at our first meeting on Wed., Sep. 28th at 7am in the Auditorium. Join the SADD classroom for more info: 5fdckiz
 
The Environmental Club is a student-led organization that tackles projects addressing recycling, tree plantings, invasive removal, and environmental-based community outreach.  Come help plan and execute the various projects.  The club will meet on Tuesday, September 27th in Room 206 from 2:10  to 3:10pm for new and returning members.  
 
ATHLETICS:

Join the SWHS Gymnastics Team! The pre-season meeting will be Friday, September 30th at 6:30pm in room 102 at SWHS. Any student athlete interested in learning more about the team, requirements and the schedule for this year is welcome!
