In alignment with our Portrait of a Graduate (PoG), SWHS strives to offer a variety of clubs and activities that provide opportunities for students to instill connections both inside and outside of the classroom setting. We believe these experiences provide a well-rounded educational experience, support student’s social and emotional wellness, and prepare all participants with real-world skills and dispositions. In order to help students reach the standards set forth in the school’s mission statement, the identity of a student within the PoG framework, all extracurricular activities will provide students with an opportunity to grow emotionally, mentally, and physically; to develop respect for self and others; and to build self-esteem and confidence.
Core Principles of SWHS Clubs & Activities
We strive to offer clubs and activities that are driven by student interest and needs based around the following, yet not limited to:
- Embody attributes of the Portrait of a Graduate
- Ensure diversity and inclusion by offering a wide range of options to cater to different backgrounds, abilities, and interests.
- Foster the growth of students' academic, social, emotional, and leadership skills.
- Encourage students to connect with their community through service and collaboration.
- Promote leadership, civic engagement, and overall student well-being.
Within the context of these experiences, we can create a thriving club and activity program that empowers students to reach their full potential and make a difference within the school community and beyond.
