South Windsor High School is thrilled to offer an Academic Resource Center (ARC)  for our students who may be struggling to complete their assignments. Meets in room AN-12 every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 2:00- 3:30 beginning the week of September 22, 2025. If a student is not able to attend on any particular day, the parent must contact Mrs. Barrett or note it on the form. This program is offered at no cost.

 

CLUBS AND ACTIVITIES: 

 

Ready to make a difference with your art?

Come to the Paint for Positivity Club meeting this Wednesday! We'll be painting for teachers and other needs in the community. Everyone is welcome—no experience necessary!

We meet from 2:15 to 3:30 p.m. in room 121.

 

The Indian Heritage Awareness Club (IHAC) will be meeting on Wednesday, September 17th. Join us to discuss possible fundraisers and help us prepare for our Diwali Exhibit coming up in October

 

The first Cooking Club Planning Meeting for this school year will be held on Thursday, September 18th in Annex room 56 at 2:05 PM. This meeting is optional. Please attend if you want to help pick the recipes for our first Cooking Day for this school year on Thursday, September 25th at 2:05 PM in the kitchen in room AN 11 in the SWHS Annex.

 

Bobcat Robotics is kicking off their new season with an after school meeting for new members only, on Thursday, September 18th right after school in Room 11 in the basement. At this meeting, new members will get a chance to meet this year's captains and get an overview of what robotics is all about. 

 

Come check out the Jewish American Heritage Club’s info meeting on Thursday, September 25th at 2 PM! We’ll have apples and honey for Rosh Hashanah and talk about what our club’s all about. Everyone’s welcome!

 

A reminder to all returning Juniors and Seniors that have been active in the SADD Club, leadership applications are due TODAY! The application is on the new classroom with code ol4dckcn  

 

The HOPE club will host their first meeting on Thursday September 25th in the back of the media center. Everyone is welcome, especially students who are interested in a career in healthcare! Come hear what the club is all about, put in your requests for guest speakers and activities throughout the year, and learn how to get involved with volunteer opportunities like our blood drives! For more information, see the fliers posted around the school for our google classroom code.

 

The Dance Club's first meeting  is on Tuesday, September 17 in AN39.  Snacks will be provided. Please see Mr. Ly , Dharshana Bhavana or Aanya Shah with questions.  This will just be a fun kickoff to get us started — no dancing yet. Mr. Ly

 

ATHLETICS:

 

The Boys Soccer Team beat Lewis Mills 3-1 behind goals from Younes Merzougui and Hayden Xhokaxhiu . After being down 1-0 early in the game, the Bobcats stepped it up and out possessed Lewis Mills in the second half to tie it up off a Blake Lyons cross and Merzougui finish. A direct kick blast from Xhokaxhiu gave SW a lead they wouldn't lose. Late in the game, Hayden broke through a couple players and kicked it home for the insurance. 

SW is now 2-0-1 early in the season.
