SCHOOL NEWS:
Mark your calendars for Friday, November 21st from 4 to 8pm for the annual Volleyball Marathon hosted by South Windsor for the Local Kids! Create teams of 6-12 people at a cost of $15 per person, for a chance to win prizes. Bring money to enter a raffle for a parking pass, gift cards and more. All proceeds go to Connecticut Children's Medical Center. Sign ups begin November 3rd during lunch waves.
Veterans Day is a federal holiday in the United States and occurs every year on November 11th. To help commemorate this holiday, Veterans from our community, including representatives from the Patriotic Commission and American Legion, are visiting social studies classes today and tomorrow. In honor of Veterans Day, we encourage students and staff to wear red, white, and blue tomorrow! Let’s show our appreciation, support, and gratitude for those who have served our country.
In 2014, Tom Delniki proclaimed the month of November as “Distributive Education Clubs of America” month in South Windsor. Please join us this month in celebrating DECA!
CLUBS AND ACTIVITIES:
Help Chef Fill the Box! Chef Sullivan, FCCLA and the culinary students challenge YOU to help fill the two GIANT boxes located outside of Annex Room 11 and in the Main Lobby. Please help by bringing non-perishable items to one of the boxes by Monday, November 17th. Take a selfie of yourself donating to the box and email it to Chef Sullivan and you will get a raffle ticket entry. One winner will be chosen for a Crumbl Cookie Gift Certificate!
If we complete the challenge of filling BOTH boxes by Monday the 17th, we will pull 3 additional winners for local business gift cards!
This is a great opportunity to help out our neighbors and feed hungry mouths in our community! Say it with me- “FILL THAT BOX! FILL THAT BOX! FILL THAT BOX!”
The Table Tennis Club will be meeting at the Annex today, November 10th, from 2-3PM. Any student is welcome. We have players with a variety of experience levels.
The Interact Club is hosting its 3rd Annual World Kindness Day Event! On Monday, November 10th, during all four lunch waves, students and staff can fill out FREE Kindness Communication Slips. Write a positive message, thank-you note, or funny joke to brighten someone’s day! All messages will be delivered to teacher mailboxes November 12th, and distributed during Bobcat Block on November 13th — World Kindness Day! Let’s spread kindness throughout our school community!
All are welcome to the Italian Club's next meeting on Thursday, November 13th right after school in Annex Room 35. We will have snacks, watch a movie, and do crafts. We'll also have our photo taken for the yearbook. This is a free event. Come take part and bring a friend.
DECA will be collecting gently used coats from November 10th - November 21st. Look for our donation boxes at the Annex and in the Front Lobby of the High School. Coats will be dry cleaned and delivered to those in need. See Mrs. Barrett at the Annex with any questions
