SCHOOL NEWS: 

It’s time for “this date in history.”  On January 29th, 1785, Seth Thomas was born in Wolcott, Connecticut. For a portion of his life, Thomas worked with Eli Terry in the venture of manufacturing clocks. Thomas eventually went into business himself in the town of Plymouth Hollow, Connecticut. This soon grew and, when passed onto his son, the Seth Thomas brand continued to expand. In 1875, the town of Plymouth Hollow was renamed to Thomaston after Seth Thomas who strongly contributed to making clocks both affordable and accurate. Thanks for listening to this date in history.

Attention seniors, the first round of in-person collections are coming soon. We will be collecting during lunch in the Seminar Room on Tuesday, February 3rd and Wednesday, February 4th. ATHLETICS:

Interested in playing girls lacrosse? All new and returning players are invited to a meeting today, Thursday, January 29th, at 2:30 PM in Room 11 SWHS Main building.  Come learn more and be part of the team!

The Girls Basketball team will host their Pink Game on Monday, February 2nd. The varsity game starts at 6:45. We will be collecting cash donations to support Breast Cancer Research and we ask that anyone attending please wear pink. Join our fight as Ballers versus Breast Cancer!!

This is a reminder to all winter sports athletes that your team pictures will take place this upcoming Monday, February 2nd after school. Please check with your coach for the exact time and location of your team picture and what uniform you should be wearing.

Exceptions to this are as follows:

• Gymnastics will take team pictures this Saturday January 31st at Tritown Gymnastics
• Boys Swimming & Diving team pictures will be February 10th 2:30 at Star Hill Pool.  
• Boys Ice Hockey team pictures will be taken at SW Arena on February 12th at 2:30 pm
