SCHOOL NEWS:
It’s time for “this date in history.” On February 3, 1863 Samuel Clemens began reporting under the name of “Mark Twain.” Also on this date in 1894, painter and illustrator Normal Rockwell was born. Rockwell was well known for his depictions of American life in “The Saturday Evening Post.” On this date in 1959, America lost music icon Buddy Holly along with Ritchie Valens and Big Bopper J.P. Richardson due to a plane crash. On February 3, 2002 the New England Patriots won their first Super Bowl over the St. Louis Rams; this was one of six Super Bowls they have won this century.
