SCHOOL NEWS:
It’s time for “this date in history.” On February 9, 1825 the US House of Representatives voted to elect John Quincy Adams as President of the United States. This was as a result of no candidates having attained 131 electoral votes needed for the presidency at that time. Also, on this date in 1964, nearly 73 million Americans were introduced to the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show. Thanks for listening to this date in history.
CLUBS AND ACTIVITIES:
The Sexuality and Gender Alliance will have its first meeting on Monday, February 9th, in Room 129 from 2-3pm. Check Google Classroom for upcoming meeting dates. New members are always welcome, hope to see you there!
Join South Windsor for the Local Kids to celebrate Latin American culture and to fundraise money for Connecticut Children's. Join us on February 12th in the Annex Cafe from 2:05-3:30 and grab a dance partner or your valentine and learn salsa partner dancing from a salsa dance teacher. Plus - eat some of our handmade empanadas. Participation costs $10. Scan one of the QR codes posted around the TVs in the hallways, or in classrooms to sign up.
ATHLETICS:
The South Windsor Girls basketball team has FOUR home games this week! Games are on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. Tuesday's game is our student council canned food drive. Wednesday is our Equity Game and Friday is SENIOR NIGHT! We hope you can come out and support the girls!
