Student Council is excited to host Trivia Night on Friday, March 27th, from 6- 8 PM in the cafeteria! Doors open: 5:30 PM, Trivia begins promptly: 6:00 PM. Teams & Sign-Ups: $5 per person, up to 5 people per team. Trivia is open to students, staff, and faculty. Have your team captain collect all dues and sign your team up in the Cafeteria (see the sign-up area). Your entire team must be paid in full to register. Prizes & Raffles will be happening all night! There is limited space: Only 40 teams - so don’t wait! Your team can Early Sign-Up Bonus Points depending on how early you sign up. Questions? See Mrs. Stewart in Room 166.
It’s time for “this date in history.” This date is filled with pop culture moments including the opening of “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” in New York–it would earn its playwright Tennessee Williams his second Pulitzer Prize. On this date in 1958, Elvis Presley was inducted into the U.S. Army and would fulfill his two year commitment to the service. On this date in 1972, Francis Ford Coppola’s The Godfather opened and is regarded as one of the best films ever created. On March 24, 2002 actress Halle Berry became the first Black woman to win the Best Actress Oscar for her role in Monster’s Ball. Famous birthdays on this date include magician Harry Houdini, actor Jim Parsons, and retired football player (and on every commercial ever made) Peyton Manning. ATHLETICS:
Girls Lacrosse is hosting a fundraiser at Oakland Pizza on March 31st from 4pm-8:30pm.
With spring sports tryouts next week, we will begin our after school study hall from 2:10-3:40 Monday through Friday in the Media Center Classroom or the Seminar Room. It is an Athletic Department expectation that all spring athletes who plan to stay on campus to await a practice starting after 2:30 pm attend study hall until it is time to change for and head off to practice.
