SCHOOL NEWS:
Attention seniors, tomorrow, April 8th we will be collecting during lunch in the Seminar Room. The last in-person collections will be after school in the Lobby on April 20th & 21st.
It’s time for “this date in history.” On April 7, 1967 famous movie critic Roger Ebert published his first review for the Chicago Sun-Times. Famously known as part of the Siskel and Ebert movie critic duo from the program At the Movies, the pair trademarked the phrase “Two Thumbs Up.” Roger Ebert would become the first critic to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. On April 7, 2001 NASA launched the Mars Odyssey spacecraft which would reach Mars in October of that year to transmit photos and other data back to scientists on Earth. Famous birthdays on this date include singer actors James Garner and Russell Crowe, film director Francis Ford Coppola, singer John Oates, and actor/stuntman Jackie Chan. Thanks for listening to this date in history.
Attention Seniors! We are extending the date for ordering a graduation lawn sign to this Friday, April 10th. For more details, check out the order form in Parentsquare or in the Senior Classroom.
The SADD Club is excited to be rolling out their "Be Honest, U Good?" project this week! The club spent a lot of time and energy over the last year to bring this project to life. Please check out the posters around the school with links to information on mental health and drug/alcohol prevention resources.
Chef Sullivan and the Baking 1 students need your help! They are having their cupcake wars and need judges! You don't have to be a baking pro or even a novice to help judge our young bakers and their cupcake displays. Please swing by the Annex Room 11 at 2:00 on Wednesday, April 8th to eat some cupcakes and give us your feedback. Judging should only take a few minutes and our bakers would love your opinion!
ATHLETICS:
Attention student-athletes: SWHS will host another College Athletics Signing Ceremony on May 11 at 12:00 PM in the Auditorium. If you have committed to play a college sport and have not already participated in the December ceremony, please See Mr. Wry for details.
