It’s time for “this date in history.” It’s National Superhero Day today–take a moment and reflect on your favorite superhero in your life (real or fiction)! On April 28, 1788, Maryland became the 7th U.S. state. In popular culture, on April 28, 2001 American businessman Dennis Tito became the first space tourist when he boarded a Russian supply mission to the International Space Station–the trip cost him approximately $20 million. On April 28, 2003 Apple launched the iTunes Store providing users the ability to purchase and download music from the internet directly to their iTunes library–in 2010 the store sold its 10 billionth song. Famous birthdays on this date include the 5th President of the United States James Monroe, author Harper Lee, comedian Jay Leno, and actresses Penelope Cruz and Jessica Alba. The National English Honor Society is hosting a review session on Tuesday, April 28th from 2 to 3 PM in Room 129 for any juniors taking AP Language and Composition.

CLUBS AND ACTIVITIES:
The Strategy Club will be meeting on Wednesdays, after school, in Room 149A for the next 5 Wednesdays. The school year is nearly over, so if you haven't participated in any clubs or activities this year, you still have one last chance to add an activity to your resume! You're invited to join us on Wednesdays for Dungeons and Dragons and board games. If you want to have fun, consider becoming a member!
The SNHS Science Tutoring Committee will be offering AP Bio and AP Chem review sessions this week in Room 205 from 2:00-4:00 PM. AP Bio will be today, Monday, April 27, and AP Chem will be on Wednesday, April 28. Light snacks will be provided. Contact Maher Mawla with questions.

Fuel your finish line sprint at the BSA’s Chocolate Delight Bake Sale during Tuesday's (04/28) home track meet. Enjoy chocolate-covered strawberries, Oreo-layered brownies, white chocolate cake pops, and more. Grab a treat for yourself or save for later. Proceeds will support our annual Black History Month Fair and field trip.
